The Deets on my Daily Dish

The aim approach to proper nutrition?! This is a topic I can go on about for HOURS. For about 8 years I have made health and fitness a priority in my life. One of the most common questions I get from people is “what do you eat?!?” And guys - it isn’t some miracle smoothie blend or magic tea that keeps me in shape. Want to know the secret? WHOLE FOODS! Real, unprocessed, chemical free foods. And by the way - they are delicious.

So let me break it down for you. No, I’m not vegan, paleo, keto, whole 30, or vegetarian. There are so many different fad diets out there in the world and I truly don’t ever put a label on the diet I follow. I DO however believe in concepts like eating for your blood type and genetic makeup BUT that gets in-depth so we’ll save that for a future post.

So to be brief I wanted to show you guys what a normal day of eating looks like for me. I meal prep SO my meals are pretty consistent throughout the week (yes I eat the same thing every day). Some people find that to be a problem but for me - it’s so much easier than spending the time to cook every.single.day.

Here comes the secret you’ve all been waiting for:

Breakfast: Chia Seed Pudding w/fresh berries and almond butter (my biggest weakness in life)

Snack 1: Small banana

Lunch: Baked chicken with an absurd amount of seasonings. Side of steamed veggies such as broccoli, zucchini, green beans, or spinach (depending on what I cook that week). I don’t typically cook my foods in oil - instead I add 1-2 tablespoons of EVOO on top to add some healthy fats & flavor to my meals!

Snack 2: Walnuts & pumpkin seeds. Sometimes I’ll throw an apple in there if I need some sugar to wake me up in the afternoon!

Dinner: Salmon or steak with a side of cauliflower rice and a steamed veggie. I add some EVOO to my dinner too.

Of course - I eat many other foods outside of this sample day but these are the basic principles I follow. As you can see most of these foods are low-inflammation. I try to avoid things such as gluten and dairy on a regular basis because they cause ME to be inflamed - however this is not the case for everyone so I encourage you all to aim to get to know how your body responds to certain foods so that you can start eating to feel good from the inside out!
